Pain can come from the gums, the tooth nerve and the tooth root. If pain is in the nerve of the tooth, quick action is required, otherwise root canal treatment is imminent. This currently accounts for over 50% of our pain patients, which can be avoided with early intervention. In case of problems at the tooth root (e.g. pus, swelling), please consult a dentist urgently to avoid spreading to other parts of the body.

Usually, root canal treatment relieves the patient from toothache. Most patients share this experience.

In very rare cases, pain may nevertheless occur after root canal treatment. A problem at the root tip is conceivable, which can lead to much greater pain if left untreated.

Fewer than 30% of emergency patients reported gum problems. Most of these patients reported swelling on the gums. You should urgently show a swelling on the gums to a dentist to minimize the spread of the inflammatory focus.

If pain pills do not work sufficiently, usually only dental treatment is a solution.
