Introduction
All patients want fixed dentures with a natural appearance. However, there are limits to dental treatment, e.g. for patients with large defects in the oral cavity or
patients with limited bone availability. In such cases, treatment concepts have so far been based on implant-supported metal-polymer or metal-ceramic restorations. However, this method has disadvantages such as
e.g. shrinkage during casting, metal fracture, metal rusting and esthetic limitations. The zirconia framework can be a good alternative, which eliminates the need for all abutments and
therefore reduces the cost and complexity of the restoration.
Conclusion
These two clinical examples using zirconia for copings, frameworks and crowns, show significantly improved functional and esthetic results compared to conventional implant-supported metal-
polymer- or metal-ceramic-based prostheses.
