Removable Dentures
The simplest and cheapest solution to treat edentulous or missing teeth is to make a prosthesis. Depending on the remaining teeth, the prosthesis can be stabilised on the gums or on the remaining teeth.
Advantages and Disadvantages
The advantage of a removable denture is the relatively fast production time and the low cost. Therefore, prosthetic teeth are often made as a temporary restoration.
A serious disadvantage is wearing comfort. In addition, longevity and aesthetics have limitations. Prosthetic teeth offer fewer opportunities for individual teeth chewing movements. This results in our central nervous system being less occupied with managing the finite chewing. Studies prove that this lack of management increases the risk of Alzheimer's or Dementia.
